Bee Pantry at the Lincolnshire Show

Pollinators are in trouble, and our students decided to do something about it. The result was the Bee Pantry — a student-designed pollinator project built for the Lincolnshire Show, combining horticulture, science and design into one ambitious display. ## A project with a purpose The brief students set themselves was simple but serious: create a space that genuinely helps pollinators, and teaches visitors why they matter. Every plant was chosen for its value to bees and other insects. ## Designed, grown and built by students From first sketches to the finished exhibit, the Bee Pantry was student-led at every stage: - Planning the layout and choosing pollinator-friendly planting - Growing the plants in the months beforehand - Constructing the display - Producing educational materials to explain the science - Presenting it to the public at the Show ## More than a display Standing in front of the public and explaining your work is no small thing. Students answered questions, shared what they'd learned, and saw the value of their efforts reflected back at them — a huge confidence builder. ## Growing for the planet, too The Bee Pantry sits right at the heart of what we believe: growing is good for young people and good for the planet.
